



Petrykivka painting is a type of folk art that originates from the village of Petrykivka, Dnipropetrovsk region. It is known that Petrykivka painting originated in the late 18th - early 19th centuries. According to legend, its origin is connected with Paraska Petryk, who ran away from the village and spent some time in the forest. After returning home, fascinated by the beauty of nature, she began using plant motifs for designing various objects such as household items and textiles.
